I've been using QLab since high school and have always had tremendous fun with it. I've always gone big whenever possible, willing to use as many inputs and outputs as needed to see the director's and my visions through. I especially love the use of locations on, off and, above the stage to establish the different worlds of the stage and allow the audience to feel as if they are part of the production space.
I've worked on quite a few musicals and they are among my favorite types of shows to work on. I've worked on shows of all scales, from just a few performers and pre-recorded tracks, all the way to a 14 person pit orchestra with 20 wireless mics with swapping between songs. I've had extensive experience working on shows that require line by line mixing and extensive logistical preparation. In a variety of physical spaces, with vastly different speaker and RF needs, and across a wide sets of equipment, my drive to understand how audio happens allows me to better apply my skills to these large scale productions.
In addition to audio I have a vast array of theater tech experience. From set construction, prop design, light hanging, focusing programing, and wiring, and many other aspects. I love being able to build tangible objects as there is such a catharisis when something physical is finsihed Being able to understand many parts of a production allows me to be better informed and a better resource towards creating the best possible product.
